Anyone can join — mom, dad, grandparents, and students can all be members!
What it Means to Join the PTA
Being a PTA member is EASY! Joining the Luna PTA means you pay modest annual dues of $10 for the school year, which help to fund important improvements in the classroom. You do not have to attend any long monthly meetings. It really is that easy!
What has PTA done for the school?
Here are some of the amazing things the Luna PTA was able to do in 2021-2022 because of funds and time donated:
- Monthly staff appreciation
- Teacher grants (over $4,800 awarded)
- Two family engagement events: Trunk or Treat and Spring Luau
- Cup of Cheer Fundraiser
- Book Fair
- Boosterthon event and fundraising
- Kids Heart Challenge
- Field Day
- Spirit Nights @ local restaurants
- Spirit Wear, field day and fun run shirts
- Recognized by GISD Council of PTAs
- Purchased/facilitated garden bed remodel and continued work on outdoor learning center
- Provided bedding/food for chickens/Thumper
- Negotiated/facilitated school supply sales
- Purchased additional school supplies, tissues, paper towels for classrooms
- Paid for materials for Kinder/5th grade graduation
- Provided staff goodies for STAAR testing
- Coordinated/purchased goodies for classroom holiday parties
- Purchased materials for Red Ribbon Week
- Organized Reflections program
- Provided lawn signs to celebrate back to school/graduation
General Meetings
The PTA holds in person general meetings that are brief. Members receive information about them via email and social media.

Joining the PTA Board
Want to have more of a voice in the PTA? Volunteer to join the Luna PTA Board! Email us here to ask about open positions. The PTA board meets monthly to discuss upcoming events, finances, classroom improvements and school needs. The PTA board is responsible for planning:
